There was an incident at the previous lab. An infiltrator from a rival company, who failed to steal our research, decided to sabotage us.

The situation was so serious that the facilities were destroyed by flames and collapse. Our former CEO died during the incident, but she managed to save some researchers (myself included), two of the species and the original portal.
