Awards and Grants
AFLTA gives Awards and Grants to members each year and the process has changed.
Do you think YOU might be the right person to receive an award, including Arkansas Teacher of the Year? We do.
Historically, awards have relied on a nomination process by another AFLTA member. While we know it may be difficult to toot your own horn, we don't want all awards to be dependent on recognition and nomination from others. We have a state full of amazing teachers that we want to recognize. While nominations can still be made, we have changed our procedure to allow the ability for members to apply to be considered for Teacher of the Year and to self-nominate for other awards.
Members may apply for the Teacher of the Year and/or self-nominate for other awards.
Members may still nominate another member for awards.
McAlpine Educator of Excellence is a nomination-only award.
All applications, nominations, and supporting evidence are due Saturday, June 1.
Recipient for will be notified by Monday, July 1.
Members accepting awards and grants are highly encouraged to attend the 2024 Fall Conference for recognition.
