Open Hearts, Open Hands: 

We’re Here to Support Families in Need

On a cold night, a guest appears,

Tea stands for wine to ease our cares.

From the bamboo stove, the kettle sings,

A newborn flame glows red beneath its wings.

Du Lei's poem depicts the warmth of a winter night: even if there is no wine or food, a cup of hot tea and a red fire can still warm each other and dispel the cold. 

The Asian Family Grief Support Foundation (AFGSF) is looking for families in need to support at the start of the new year. AFGSF's goal is to help families feel warmth and care during the new year.

❄️ Households We Hope to Support:

• Loss of primary income source

• Family member with a serious illness

• Major family disaster

❄️ Fundraising Goal:

The budget of $20,000 aims to support 10 families with approximately $2,000 for each family.

❄️ Refer a family or apply to be a recipient family:

Self-referral or other referral.

The application deadline for the 2025 AFGSF Fundraiser is February 28, 2025. Please include your family size, financial resources, and current difficulties in your application email to afgsf.npo@gmail.com. Use the subject line “2025 AFGSF Mutual Aid Fundraising Application”

❄️ Evaluation and Funding Process:

Applications will be assessed based on the family's level of need and the urgency of their situation. The recipients will be announced anonymously in late March, and grants will be distributed accordingly.
