University of Lodz
PhD 2001, University of Lodz, Poland
Assistant professor at the Department of Algology and Mycology, Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of University of Lodz, with which I have been professionally associated continuously since the beginning of my MSc studies.
I am fascinated by fungi and fungi-like chromistans, considering them some of the most extraordinary, intriguing, and enigmatic organisms on Earth. Their diverse life strategies, adaptations, and plasticity captivate me, particularly their ability to change lifestyles. This interest drives my scientific focus, especially my passion for entomopathogens and arachnopathogens. In my daily work, I primarily concentrate on plant parasites and endophytes, examining them both from a taxonomic perspective—primarily focusing on ascomycete anamorphs—and from an applied perspective in biological conservation and the ecology of alien and invasive species.
Polish Mycological Society
I represent the Board of the Polish Mycological Society. I am a research assistant and PhD student at the University of Lodz.
My research focuses on the taxonomy and ecology of fungi associated with invertebrates, with particular emphasis on interactions between fungi and spiders. Currently, I investigate how pathogenic fungi influence spider populations by analyzing infection mechanisms and fungal survival strategies. My work aims to better understand how pathogenic fungi shape host population dynamics and their roles within ecosystems.
University of Liège
PhD 2016, National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia, Tunisia
Postdoctoral Researcher at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liège, Belgium. Her research focuses on insect-pathogenic fungi in the orders Entomophthorales and Hypocreales, biological control strategies, and multitrophic interactions. She worked in several countries including Tunisia, China, and South Korea. Google Scholar.
University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska
Assistant professor at the Department of Botany, Mycology and Ecology at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. A mycologist specializing in the biodiversity of microscopic parasitic fungi occurring in natural environment. Co-author of studies on the mycobiota of Białowieża National Park, Roztocze National Park, and Tatra National Park. Recently, her research has focused on alien and invasive microfungi, occurring mainly in urbanized areas.
Botanical Garden, University of Warsaw
I am broadly interested in plant–fungus interactions, with a particular focus on endophytism and the benefits it provides to the host plant. My current research examines saprotrophic relationships between fungi and invasive plant species within their secondary range. I am also exploring the potential of entomopathogenic endophytes, together with their associated bacterial symbionts, as biological control agents against agricultural pests.
University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn
Biologist, mycologist, microbiologist employed at the Department of Microbiology and Mycology, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, as well as the Chairwoman of the Mycological Section of the Polish Botanical Society. Author of nearly 140 scientific studies (publications and scientific communications) on microfungi potentially pathogenic to humans occurring in various habitats, including aquatic ecosystems. I am interested in microfungi as a permanent or temporary component of the ontosphere of humans and animals. I am the supervisor of the Student Mycology Research Club, chair of the Regional Committee, and a member of the Main Committee of the Biology Olympiad in Poland. I am also a high school biology examiner.
Mycological Section of the Biology Students' Scientific Society, University of Lodz
I am a third-year biology student and an active member of the Mycological Section of the Students’ Scientific Society. I am currently working on my bachelor’s thesis regarding neurotropic fungi belonging to the genus Psilocybe and hope to one day continue my studies in the field of mycology.
Mycological Section of the Biology Students' Scientific Society, University of Lodz
I am a third-year Bachelor student at the University of Lodz. I am particularly interested in fungal pathogens of arthropods, especially spiders. In my spare time, I enjoy reading speculative fiction, hiking, and fiber crafts.
Mycological Section of the Biology Students' Scientific Society, University of Lodz
I am a third-year biology student specialising in teaching. I am currently writing my bachelor’s thesis on the academic community’s expectations regarding mycology textbooks. My current biological interests are fungi, birds and taxonomy.
