A series of cliffs high above the jungle canopy. The Roost is home to the aviar, a bird-like race that make up the cuzamil clan. the rugged terrain is difficult to traverse, and the cliffs are joined together by long, wide bridges between the cliff heads.

Your airship touched down at a lower level of an eastern cliff, just below the roost, where most of the aviar live. Tall jungle trees and dense foliage litter the area, even so high.
Sturdy rope Bridges connect the cliff to the ledges overhead. It is dangerous to get too close to the cliff precipices, as falling would cause certain death.
Boasting a series of cliff ledges and mountanous perches, the Aviar have long made their home here in The Roost, high above the Jungle Canopy far below. The large peak houses many of the Aviar's housing, including that of the Chief and his family, who make their nest at the top of Ilhuicac peak. At the base of the peak is THE fEATHER fALL iNN, which cordially invites you to stay in ITS soft DOWNY beds.
THE SURROUNDING AIR SPACE CLOSEST TO THE roOST HAS BEEN MADE CLEAR OF ANY OBSTRUCTIONS thanks to the efforts of the Warders and Guardians, bUT THE aVIAR stay vigilant, WATCHing THE SKIES FOR any ohui that dare fly too close to the roost.
The Assembly is the centermost peak of the Roost, and usually where visitors to the Roost emerge. Bridges swing from the north and south cliffs, as well as between the Assembly and the Roost. The CUZAMIL'S SISTER CLAN, THE aRIDUFF clAN, TRADITIONALLY TRAVEL TO THE rOOST BY CLIMBING UP THE MOUNTAINSIDE — ALTHOUGH THE TRADITIONAL PATHS HAVE BEEN CLOSED OFF BY THE oBSIDIAN sMOG.
Decorating the dead center of the Assembly is a pattern called The SolDial. This is a depiction of the sun. Despite not having a compass line, the soldial is able to cast shadows along its own face of the time of day, and glows with a soft light at night, acting as a beacon for returning Aviar in flight.
At the eastern edge of the Assembly is "The Flight Range", where many Aviar take off and land when traversing outside of the Roost. Gliders (known as WInd-Runners), and Kaehko Leaves can be bought here— and are often insisted upon by the Aviar when a flightless friend comes too close to the edge of the Roost. Should someone fall off, they are caught by Warders and any other available Aviar in the immediate area before falling too far.
The Roost's marketplace. Each of the shops has its own workshop beside it. Some birdfolk carve out weaponry from molted feathers, while others hammer and hone spear shafts and the hook-ends of dual-heads. Fletchers test the draw-weight of large bows while their apprentices craft arrows from the last month's molt.
The Agora merchants pride themselves in their wares, with most items and equipment being made by the aviar themselves. Most of the items found are crafted with the intention of selling these items to adventurous members of the ariduff clan, as traveling the cliffs without any means of flight can be incredibly dangerous.
Hilariously, this can also include wooden beads and secondary feathers, which the Aviar use as betrothal and marriage ornaments.
The Corps De Flock is the Roost's warrior garrison, who meet and train at the south-eastern peak of The Roost. The Corps De Flock make up a large portion of the Aviar's populace, as many birdfolk strive to hone their skills and become the finest warriors the cuzamil clan has to offer.
Training grounds for archery and martial combat take up most of the area, with perches standing guard against Ohui at each corner of the peaks.
aLSO KNOWN AS tHE sACRED gROUNDS. cAWUHTLA IS A LARGE SERIES OF CLIFF HEADS FILED WITH DENSE FORESTS ACROSS EACH OF ITS MANY LAYERS. iT IS ALSO HOME TO THE SOLSTONE PERCH, A SMALL TEMPLE BUILT INTO THE SIDE OF THE CAWUHTLA PEAK, WHERE THE SOLSTONE - A GIANT GOLDEN SPHERE REMINISCENT OF THE SUN - IS KEPT.
mARKING THE ENTRANCE TO THE sOLSTONE pERCH ARE DEPICTIONS OF THE SUN ENGRAVED INTO THE ROCKS BELOW. tHIS PATTERN IS REMINISCENT OF THE SOLDIAL, WHICH ORNAMENTS THE FLOOR OF THE aSSEMBLY.
lIKE the FLying Fish (a series of peaks to the south of Cawuhtla), the Solstone Perch is guarded by Sky-Keepers and Ohui, making travel to the Solstone all but impossible.
Home to the hermit Xe'tzal, the Flying Fish is named not only for its appearance gliding from above, but in honor of Mol'ecatl. aVIAR HAVE MADE THE flYING fISH PEAKS HOME TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE sKY-kEEPERS, ALTHOUGH work on the keepers has come to a standstill.
At the highest peak of the Flying fISH IS "thE oLD tOJ", WHICH HOLDS A BASIN OF WATER WITHIN ITS HOLLOWED OUT TRUNK. tHIS TREE WAS ONCE A LARGE AND SPRAWLING TOJ TREE FROM BELOW THE cANOPY. nO aVIAR IS QUITE SURE HOW IT MANAGED TO GET TO THE rOOST, BUT IT IS SEEN AS A SACRED PLACE TO MEDITATE, AND KEEP WATCH OVER cAWUHTLA AND THE roOST.
