Who We Are
The PTO is made up of a group of dedicated, hard-working, enthusiastic Aiken Elementary School (AES) parents, community members, and teachers. The PTO is YOU! All parents or guardians of children attending AES, as well as each member of the professional staff are encouraged to participate in PTO activities. There are many ways to be involved in the PTO and we are always seeking volunteers.

To promote the welfare of children in home, school, church and community.
To raise the standards of home life.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children.
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the training of the child.
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts will secure for every child the highest advantages in physical, mental and social education.
To promote sustainability by leveraging planet friendly practices to reduce paper waste.

My name is Casey Carroll and I am excited to serve as the PTO President for the 2026–2027 school year. I have been part of the PTO for 4 years now and have three children at AES—twins in 1st grade and one in 5th grade. Our family has loved being part of this amazing Aiken Elementary community. My goals as president are to foster a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and staff, to plan fun, enriching events that make school a great place to learn and grow, and to make sure the teachers feel encouraged and supported in their work. Our PTO always welcome your ideas or feedback, so please never hesitate to reach out!

My name is Alexis and I am so excited our family is going to be entering our 6th year at Aiken Elementary! I have been married for 11 years, and we have twins who are 9 years old and will be starting 4th grade this year. We’ve truly loved being part of this wonderful school community and the AES family.
I am starting my 12th year as a pediatric nurse and my 3rd year teaching at the USCA School of Nursing. Supporting children and families has always been a passion of mine, both professionally and personally.
In my free time, I enjoy serving at my church with the youth group and being actively involved at AES on the PTO board. I love to spend time reading, traveling and camping with my family and spending time with our two golden retrievers. Disney is my absolute favorite and I love going to a concert whenever I can.
I look forward to an amazing year serving on the PTO board and working together to support our students, teachers, and families!

My name is John Mills and I am serving as Treasurer for the 2026–2027 school year. My family is starting our 2nd year at Aiken Elementary. It did not take long to see why people talk about the AES family the way they do, and we are happy to be part of it!
Professionally, I work in nuclear safety engineering at the Savannah River Site. That work is a good fit for this role. My job on the board is to keep the PTO's books accurate, our reporting current, and every dollar raised traceable to something that benefits our students and teachers.
Outside of work, you will usually find me at Newspring Church or out walking the dog.
I am new to the board this year and glad to be here. If you ever have a question about how PTO funds are raised or spent, please ask. I would rather answer ten questions than leave anyone wondering.
