On January 31st, Jim achieved 41:54:72 with a 2200mah Smart battery and an undisclosed (drone?) prop. It is rumored that he still had electrons in the tank when he landed. I saw part of the flight, and it seemed Jim was flying very smoothly, with perfect coordinated turns. The rules do not explicitly disallow flying well (at least not yet).
As of this writing, this seems like an impossible time to beat. But Jim commented on FB: "FWIW I landed at 3.8 per cell. I could have milked a little longer, so there is room for being bested! " Hmmm... we'll see.
