Myth 1: Applying Early Decision guarantees admission.
While ED can offer a small advantage at some colleges, it does not guarantee admission.
Myth 2: You can't apply for financial aid if you apply early.
You can, and you should. Colleges will use your FAFSA to create a financial package.
Myth 3: You can't back out of Early Decision.
It's true that ED is a binding commitment, but if the financial aid you're offered doesn't meet your need, you can request to be released.
