PRETEST
A pre-assessment will be provided to the students. There will be 15 multiple choice test items intended to check students’ prior knowledge on the topics covered in the self-learning module.
Students are expected to finish the pretest via Google Form embedded in the Gamified Google Slide template.
DISCUSSION
This part of the module highlights the content of the module.
The Subject-Verb Agreement Rules will be discussed through the pre-recorded videos prepared by the designated teachers.
The elements of Gamification such as Game board, Leaderboard and Rewards shall be integrated in the lesson proper.
Students are expected to access the material and complete the tasks prior to the synchronous session. (Flipped Classroom Model).
BASIC RULE
A singular subject takes a singular verb, whereas a plural subject takes a plural verb.
RULE 1
Two singular subjects connected by or, either/or, or neither/nor require a singular verb.
RULE 2
The verb in an or, either/or, or neither/nor sentence agrees with the noun or pronoun closest to it.
RULE 3
As a general rule, use a plural verb with two or more subjects when they are connected by and.
RULE 4
Use a singular verb with distances, periods of time, sums of money, etc., when considered as a unit.
RULE 5
If the noun after of is singular, use a singular verb. If it is plural, use a plural verb.
