I was born and raised here in the Bay Area. My mother managed an at home child care since I was young. I grew up helping her with the care of many infants, toddlers and after school care children.
While obtaining my double Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and Business Management, and later my Master's degree in Public Health Administration, I worked as a tutor and provided academic tutoring to children in elementary school up to high school. All of my students have graduated from UC Berkeley, USF, UC Davis, etc. I was a tutor for over 8 years, developed rapport with many parents and still remain in touch with my students. Simultaneously, I was also a Science Lab Assistant and helped many college students in my cohort.
During my free time, I volunteered at Oakland Children's Hospital. It actually started out as an internship but even after completing my hours, I continued to stay on to offer any additional assistance. I was part of the Parents' Aid and Information Room where I offered parents help with any research they needed during their child's time at the hospital. I also devoted time in the Cancer unit where children sometimes had to spend longer durations of time in the hospital and helped with creative projects and games.
I have always yearned for a career where I can help people. After graduating, I started work at a mental health agency for children and I was drawn to this non-profit because their sole mission is to offer unconditional care to all children.
In 2020, I was blessed with a growing family. I had my son during the pandemic and though I was granted the ability to work from home, what I learned most about this time is the importance of the first few years in a child's life - from each developmental milestone, bonding and social interactions . When I returned back to work and had to send my son to day care, even after countless research, tours and trials, there wasn't one day care I felt at ease sending him to. Whether it be a safety, hygiene, communication, adaptability or a nurturing issue, there was no one day care that fit all the criteria. And so, here I am! I knew this was my calling to provide something different than your average day care. I wanted to provide a child care service that I would want my own son to be part of.
"Your child's well-being and growth are my top priorities, and I look forward to partnering with you on this adventure. "
