ADSS Music Department believes in sharing our music with a wide audience. As musicians when we travel, we perform and learn from others about not just music, but about life. It is important to remember that travel is optional in our program and is not a curricular requirement, however these are incredible opportunities for students to grow musically and as young individuals.
Paying by E-Transfer:
E-transfers can be sent to ADSSBAND@sd70.bc.ca
**When paying by E-transfer please make sure the reference includes band tour and the current school year, as well as student first and last name. Example:
Reference:
"Port Alberni Tour - 2023 - Deposit - Learner McStudent"
Please note this is a preferred method for our program, as it allows us to track payments easily and avoid students accidentally losing payments on it's way to teachers.
Paying by Cheque:
Cheques should be made out ADSS or ADSS Band.
Cheques should be handed to a music teacher directly in an envelope, marked with a student's first and last name on it, as well as the amount and what it is for.
Paying with cash:
Cash should be handed to a music teacher directly in an envelope, marked with a student's first and last name on it, as well as the amount and what it is for.
Financial Assistance:
At the ADSS Music Department, we believe all students should have access to the best educational opportunities possible. Should a family require financial assistance, we are able to offer supports on a yearly basis. Please note not all of a student's costs may be covered. Students who receive financial supports are expected to participate in all fundraisers and will not receive any additional costs from those events, as their sponsorship takes this into account. Please note we do not offer sponsorship for Grade 8 families, as families are able to cover a significant amount of tours by participating in all fundraising activities. Families may also speak with directors regarding payment plans where applicable.
All students that wish to travel with the ADSS Music Department will need to have a signed contract in place, with their tour deposits.
This contract is binding and therefore must be read carefully by families and students. Please note that deposits for tours are non-refundable.
Contracts for tours will be handed out at our yearly start-up meeting in September. Families will need to plan to attend this meeting in order to learn more information about tours, as well as to receive a contract. If the September meeting is not attended, families will need to speak directly with a teacher to receive a contract and information.
Families will also need to have a completed District Release form addressing Risk Acknowledgement.
