Writer

Adrian is an experienced writer on music, his particular specialisms being early music/historical performance, historical musicology, vocal music, and choral music.

He was Editor of Cathedral Music magazine, the flagship publication of Cathedral Music Trust, between 2022 and 2024, Associate Editor of Classical Music between 2017 and 2020 and Editor of Early Music Today between 2013 and 2018.

Other titles he has written for include Choir & Organ, Early Music America, Musical Opinion, Opera Now, Music Teacher, and Teaching Drama.

Adrian is also an experienced proof-reader, writer of concert programme notes and CD booklet notes, and translator into English from French, German, Italian, and Latin.

Between 2022 and 2025 he was Assistant Editor of the Journal of the Royal Musical Association and the Royal Musical Association Research Chronicle, carrying out copy-editing and proof-reading for these two world-leading musicology journals.
