Reading
Growing up, I was never the best reader; to this day, I still need to improve my reading ability. As I grew up, I realized I needed to read books that interested me; I wanted to start reading "This is Not a T-Shirt" by Bobby Hundreds, a book about how he made his clothing brand, The Hundreds. This will allow me to 1. I need to practice my reading skills and 2. learn business-making skills for my dream clothing brand. Then, the series is called "331⁄3," which focuses on specific albums. This book focuses on MADVILLIANY by MF DOOM.
Growing up, I always wanted to have my own clothing brand. Even today, I still have this dream and follow it. I made mock-up designs that allowed me to get a general idea of what I would like the designs of the shirts to be. By the time the semester is over, I hope that I could have at least started my brand by actually having good designs, maybe having an actual product to get an idea of the shirts.
When it comes to fitness, I want to be consistent with what I do and how I do it. My goal for this semester is to get stronger and be able to help out more with the heavy things in my household.
Looking back at the semester, I grew in my reading. I started reading "This is Not a T-Shirt" by Bobby Hundreds, and it has given me significant insight into all the challenges he faced when making his brand. Granted, I'm still not done with the book, but it goes over his struggles when creating the brand, getting into stores, struggling with loss, and everything in between. Sadly, regarding my clothing brand, I am back at square one. I had to reevaluate my ideas and designs for my brand and the purpose of the brand. I did gain possible partners and knowledge for my brand in the future. I've researched the clothing process, materials, quality, facilities, and equipment I would need to make clothes. The good thing about the partners I gained is that they have connections for making embroidered designs, hats, etc. I can now do Anything I want to put on a shirt, hat, sweater, or pants. I did grow strength-wise as well. I've helped my dad with his work and overtime. This has helped me a lot when carrying heavy things for his job and at home as well.
