I upgraded to Adobe DC for a few months, then I didn't need it anymore, and went back to the free Adobe reader version. At that point, it started launching at start-up, taking over my whole screen. It's been driving me crazy.

But I did find this online: How to Stop an Application from Opening at Startup With Mac OS X , and it does stop the full application from opening. At this moment, only the icon in the bottom ribbon appears. The full program doesn't launch, just the icon. And for now, I'll have to live with that....until I find a different/better PDF reader and bid Adobe adieu.

When I scroll a PDF with the mouse (two-finger gesture on a laptop to be more precise) the scrolling is way too slow. I am not referring to rendering issues nor some kind of lag. Simply put, the reader scrolls line by line and therefore it requires multiple gestures to scroll just a little bit of a page. I want to be able to scroll much faster and smoothly, like one does on a HTML page (e.g. in Chrome).

This article describes the protected PDF readers that are supported for Azure Information Protection (AIP). Protected PDF readers enable users to open those encrypted PDFs and view the sensitive information contained.

Encrypting your PDFs with AIP ensures that unauthorized people cannot read the file's content. Protected PDF readers that support AIP verify that you've been granted permissions to open the document, and also decrypt the content for you.

If you're unable to open your protected PDF using the recommended reader, the document may be protected in a previous format. For example, Microsoft SharePoint currently uses an older format for PDF documents in IRM-protected libraries. ff782bc1db
