For this project, I looked at how social media impacts society and myself and people around me.
After taking the "AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA" quiz it showed that I am fairly reliant on social media.
The result from quiz showed: You're fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits! Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?
I think that I need to rethink about this because I spend a lot of time in social media on Average I spend 4 hours a day on social media which I think I need to work on to reduce it to the Average of 2 hours per day that can help me a lot.
The most interesting stat that I found on the web was this chart that shows age gaps between different social media applications.
I think social media's impact on society is mostly negative in today's world because more people are getting scammed easily and hackers are getting more power because people in today's world upload sensitive info like their birth date and more stuff like that on Instagram without thinking of the consequences because people can easily use that info to create a fake account on your name and do bad things with it. Social media also has a positive impact where there are a lot of scams there are equal opportunity to learn about anything you want, you can get to it in a matter of seconds and also social media helps you make a big friend group and friends from another country too and social media makes it easy to connect to new people.
I learned that social media can easily take over you once you get addicted it makes it harder to leave it or focus on other things like school, Work etc.
