Research Interests
I primarily focus on the numerous subdomains of the promising yet emerging paradigm of the Internet of Things, in particular, on the Internet of Vehicles since it is an indispensable constituent of the modern Intelligent Transportation Systems and which itself is critical to the realization of futuristic Smart Cities. My interest in Vehicular Networks began almost a decade ago when I started investigating the classical notion of Vertical Handover of Dynamic Nodes in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks. Over the years, as challenges evolved, I looked into the Management Aspects of Heterogeneous Vehicular Networks by primarily applying the paradigm of Software-defined Networking so as to achieve extremely Low Latency for Safety-critical Applications in Connected Vehicles. Lately, I have been employing the notion of Trust for strengthening the resilience of such a Non-deterministic Highly Dynamic Network.
Over the years, I have also developed an interest in Privacy Preservation, Citation Function Classification, Activity Recognition, and Conversational Question Answering primarily by working on a number of collaborative projects with excellent research colleagues.
