Short Biography – Academic and Professional
I have obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Information Science & Technology and went on to pursue a Master of Science in Information & Communication Technology, a Master of Engineering by Research in Network & Communications, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Computer Science. I have always been a dedicated learner and remain keen to learn something totally new, i.e., there is always something on my cards.
I am currently associated with the School of Computing at the Faculty of Science & Engineering, Macquarie University, Australia in the capacity of a Lecturer in Computing (IoT and Networking). On the research side of things, I primarily focus on the various sub-domains of the promising yet emerging paradigm of the Internet of Things, the Internet of Vehicles, Trust Management, Software Defined Networking, Edge / Fog Computing, and Next Generation Heterogeneous Wireless Networks. On academic front, I Lecture and Coordinate a number of academic units at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. I Supervise and regularly Mentor a number of Higher Degree Research Students.
Before moving to Macquarie University, I have remained associated with several national and international organizations of repute. One such excellent research endeavour was at the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group, Waterford, Republic of Ireland (lately referred to as the Walton Institute for Information & Communication Systems Science), wherein I carried research on an Industry-targeted Research Project, AMEND, duly agreed with the Intel Research Labs, Leixlip Campus, Republic of Ireland under the auspices of the Science Foundation Ireland's CONNECT Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications*.
I have further worked as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer & Information Technology, Al-Madinah International University, Malaysia where I taught numerous academic units at the Bachelor's level, i.e., Human-Computer Interaction, System Analysis & Design, Multimedia Network, Advanced Web Programming, Discrete Mathematics, and Cyber Laws.
Lastly, a part of my professional development transpired at the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan (a public sector higher educational institute of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan), wherein I have been thoroughly brushed up to tackle several intrinsic facets of project management pertinent to academia. I have administered a development portfolio worth Pak. Rs. 2,862.656 Million — the development portfolio included a capital expenditure on infrastructure, i.e., needed for both the sustenance and growth of ongoing and new academic programmes (I have, particularly, carried out a detailed supervision of an infrastructure component pertinent to the provisioning and upgrading of the Laboratory Equipment for the Engineering- and IT-specific academic programmes).
*Also co-funded under European Regional Development Fund's Grant Number - 13/RC/2077.
Academic Teaching – Curriculum Designing, Lecturing, Unit Coordination, and Tutoring
I am fond of Academic Teaching since I perceive it to be the real instrument that empowers a teacher to make a truly positive difference in the students' lives.
