Interact with component vendors onsite, for suggestions on product part requirements
Near Field EM scanning:
Characterize near field probes
Validate accuracy of Detectus AB HRE 1 and EMScan corp. EMXpert scanning equipment
Estimate engineering effort reduction by using Near Field scanning equipment, to detect radiating
hot spots, in early stages of product development.
Compare results from spectral & spatial heat maps with previously known, unmitigated, desense
Continuous interaction with vendor to debug equipment results, which resulted in a free upgrade of existing hardware & firmware. (Praised for my persistence & persuasive demeanor)
Suggested the idea that a radiating offender identified from EM scan heat maps, could be used to estimate desense at receiving antenna, if a device model were available for EM simulation. Suggestion was well received with agreement from several engineers. Unfortunately, haven’t had a chance to implement this yet. Would like to do so/talk to someone who has done this already, sometime.
