I hold a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension Education from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal, where I conducted my doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Debabrata Basu in the area of farm typology and characterization of agricultural systems.
My doctoral work focused on identifying and analyzing diverse farm typologies across different agro-climatic regions of Jharkhand, India. The study employed a multidimensional approach, integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with advanced multivariate statistical techniques to classify and delineate farm types at the village level. This research provides critical insights into the heterogeneity of farming systems in remote areas and serves as a foundation for designing targeted training and extension strategies to enhance the adoption of agricultural technologies.
Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bihar. In this role, I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and extension activities.
I have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award (First Prize) from the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, which carries a cash prize of ₹50,000 along with a citation. I was also honored with the AWSAR Award for Best Ph.D. Story by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in 2019. Additionally, I am a recipient of the Netaji Subhas–ICAR International Fellowship Award (2017) from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
My research interests include Educational Technology and Agricultural Journalism.
