Dongguk University, Seoul
I am an assistant professor at the Department of Energy & Materials Engineering, Dongguk University. My interests include taking up the challenges of synthesizing novel materials for future batteries. Simultaneously, looking forward to developing material for multipurpose applications, such as battolyser, PEC, perovskites, and so on..
I am curious and eager to explore a few unexplored paths to tackle the menacing global energy crisis leading to dramatically change my research direction giving rise to two Ph.D.
I received my Ph.D. at UNIST (08/2017~08/2021) under the supervision of Prof. Kwang S. Kim. During my Ph.D., my main research focus had been on understanding the root cause of voltage and capacity fade in Li-excess batteries. Enjoying the freedom of explorations in this lab, I explored several other allied energy materials (lead halide/oxide-perovskites, Water splitting, PEC, and other electrocatalysts). I owe this to my supervisor Prof. Kim for his invaluable support, trust, and his simplicity is mind-bowling. I often think that he has a hidden battery of very long life devoid of any charging and being always there for us.
I received my first Ph.D. at IGCAR (08/2014~08/2017) under the supervision of Prof. Aniruddha Moitra. During this Ph.D., I was deeply involved in Superalloys, particularly Alloy 617. This alloy is the backbone of not only India's but the World's first-ever coal-fired AUSC plant with complete indigenous technology. These technologies are the game changers for the global energy crisis, as they would increase the energy efficiency of the thermal power plant close to ~50% of the present ~37%. But these technologies are very expensive and can only be managed by government policies and fundings. This thinking propelled me to find cheaper yet efficient energy technologies with close to zero waste based on the idea of a sustainable society.
I received my M.S. in Nanoscience Nanotechnology at GFSU under the supervision of Prof. YK Agrawal and B.Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at UPTU under the supervision of Prof. Senthil Subramanian.
