Biography
Aditya N. Singh is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy and Materials Engineering at Dongguk University, Seoul campus, South Korea. He received his B. Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UPTU in 2010. After receiving his Bachelor of Technology degree, he continued his graduate studies at the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) under the supervision of Prof. Y.K. Agrawal. He received his MS in 2014. During his Masters degree studies, his research focused on the synthesis of quantum dots for forensic applications. In 2014, he moved to Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, for his Ph.D. research. In his three years of research, he explored Superalloy 617 under the supervision of Prof. Aniruddha Moitra. At that time, the project on Alloy 617, was jointly headed by IGCAR/BHEL/NTPC toward the country and the World's first indigenous thermal power plant. His thesis is also the first Ph.D. thesis on Alloy 617 with a record completion within 3 years. Taking up the challenges of the energy crisis in India and the World, he decided to find novel materials to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency yet with a reduced price, he moved to carry out another doctoral degree in the Chemistry department under the supervision of Distinguished Scientist and Korean Nobel laureate Prof. Kwang S. Kim. The battery research was guided by Prof. Hyun-Wook Lee, who is a renowned scientist and a postdoctoral student of Prof. Yi Cui. Research at UNIST gave him an opportunity to explore not only Li-excess batteries with anionic redox chemistries but water splitting, PEC, perovskites, and various other fields as well. His research group in direct collaboration with Prof. Kyung-Wan Nam at Dongguk pursues innovations in Li-excess/sodium-ion batteries, partially ordered/disordered materials, in-situ XAS analysis of various redox systems, and electrochemically energy harvesting. His published works in this field have been cited more than 2000 times.
