I am an Assistant Professor of Management at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business.
I study Strategic Management with a focus on corporate transactions and firm scope. My research applies behavioral theories to understand acquisitions and interfirm collaborations. One stream examines how firms address challenges in acquisitions and their effects on performance; the other explores how firms negotiate, design, and amend contracts. I integrate insights from social psychology and transaction cost economics to investigate the drivers and outcomes of corporate transactions, using methods such as archival analysis, content analysis, survey analysis, machine learning, and quasi-experiments. My research has been published in top management journals, such as the Organization Science and the Strategic Management Journal.
I have taught both undergraduate and MBA students at Santa Clara University since 2018, primarily leading the capstone Strategic Analysis course in both in-person and online formats. In addition to teaching, I have actively contributed to academic service through roles such as Editorial Review Board member for Organization Science, Representative-at-Large for the Strategic Management Society, and Research Committee member for the Academy of Management.
I hold a B.A. in Business Administration from Wuhan University, and I also hold a M.A. in Strategic Management from Peking University. I earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business.
