Adelaide Hills Cat Rescue was born from a long‑standing passion for giving vulnerable cats a second chance.
For more than ten years, our founder has devoted her time to fostering hundreds of cats and kittens through established animal welfare organisations, providing safe, loving homes while they recovered, grew in confidence, and waited for their forever families. Over time, that experience grew into a strong desire to help closer to home - supporting cats in the local Adelaide Hills community and often covering food, supplies, and veterinary care out of her own pocket.
In March 2025, Adelaide Hills Cat Rescue was formally established to continue this work in a more sustainable, community‑focused way.
A special part of AHCR is helping the cats many people overlook - the “spicy” ones. These are fearful, undersocialised or semi‑feral cats who need extra patience, gentle handling, and lots of TLC. With time, consistency, and compassion, we help them feel safe again and learn to trust, so they can move from survival mode into a true “furever home.”
At Adelaide Hills Cat Rescue, every cat is treated as an individual, and every small step forward is celebrated. Because every cat deserves safety, kindness, and a chance to belong.
