If you value having a place to sit, practice, and return to stillness, we invite you to support the Adelaide Zen Group through membership.
Becoming a member of Adelaide Zen Group offers a unique opportunity to:
deepen your connection and commitment to practice,
express your generosity (dāna) supporting not only yourself but everyone who walks through the Adelaide Zen Group door,
sustain and strengthen our community including your fellow students of meditation, teachers, zendo leaders and volunteer committee members (sangha),
ensure the practice of Diamond Sangha Zen Buddhism continues to be available for anyone who wishes to explore. Your support will "keep the doors open" at weekly meditation practice sessions (Hutt St and St Chad's) and the regular retreat program (including opportunities to meet with a teacher and receive their teachings, experience and wisdom).
Membership fees cover basic expenses including: insurance, a modest stipend for our teachers, equipment and maintaining online services. If needed they also underwrite retreats and weekly rental costs.
Memberships expire on 1 July each year. We encourage people to renew their membership or consider becoming a member in the the months leading up to 1 July, however, you can apply to become a member at anytime. If you are considering becoming a member outside the end of financial year, please contact the Membership Secretary Julian DiBez (dibez@bigpond.com) to discuss a pro-rata fee.
Membership Options
1. Full Membership ($100 to $210)
Full members are welcome to join our committee, vote on group decisions, take on leadership roles within our community and access our library. Offer what you can afford within the range suggested, instalments are also an option.
2. Associate Membership ($60)
Associate membership is intended for those who are unable to attend in-person due to geographical or personal reasons.

We rely on voluntary weekly contributions by members and non-members to cover the cost of rent. Contributions do not always cover the total cost which means diverting funds to manage the shortfall. This account has been established to facilitate voluntary contributions which support the regular retreat program including scholarships. The primary contributors in recent years have been our teachers.
