Membership and Support

Membership fees are now due for 2024-25
Annual membership fees are now due for current members.

We also encourage those who have been participating in AZG activities for more than a few months to consider applying for membership (full or associate) as a way of showing your ongoing commitment to the group, its teachers, and its activities. Full membership is recommended for those who attend our activities regularly.

Associate Membership is designed for people who only wish to participate in the activities of the Association on an infrequent basis, or are precluded from participating in-person due to geographical or personal reasons. Only Full Members can nominate for the AZG Committee at the AGM.

We value and aspire to be an accessible and welcoming sangha that integrates the Zen tradition into the fabric of modern life, and reconnects us with the earth and all its inhabitants. It's not necessary to become a Buddhist to be a supporting member of our group. We simply ask that members uphold the ethical treatment of one another while participating in the group.

Becoming a member or renewing your annual membership helps to support and sustain Zen practice in Adelaide.  Funds raised through membership are put to work addressing ongoing costs including; renting venues, insurance, dana for our teachers, website maintenance, equipment and other costs. Without this ongoing support we could not continue to offer our regular programs and events.

AZG Membership is based on a financial year which means we are fast approaching renewal time, with the aim of completing the process before the end of July.

Method of payment

Fees can be paid by electronic funds transfer (EFT) using the following information: People’s Choice, BSB: 805-050, Account No: 102 688 007. Please identify EFT payments with your name and the notation ‘M’

If EFT payment is not an option for you please contact the Treasurer using the following email address: azg@azg.org.au and alternative arrangements can be made.

Pledges

Some members also contribute a monthly pledge, over and above membership. These pledges are vital to maintain the zendo and our teachers, and keep the doors open for everyone. If you can afford it, please consider.

Pledges can be made throughout the year, or in a lump sum. But this is different from a donation. Pledges are a scheduled payment, and the Treasurer is notified in advance of your commitment. Regular payments can be made by direct debit into the AZG bank account, by cheque or by arrangement with the AZG Treasurer.
