COVID-19 is not a hoax, or a conspiracy, or a ploy. It is a real, dangerous threat, and with the outbreak of new strains such as the highly infectious Delta variant, it leaves room for the public health of Austenasians to be compromised. It isn’t going away, in fact, it’s coming back, and so we must do more to prevent it. Unfortunately, doing nothing is not the way you fight it. There has been an alarming lack of action regarding the virus among the Austenasian government for seemingly no real reason. Have they not considered the potential consequences?
We recognize that localities have their own needs, so what we will do is give Governors, Representatives, and Governing Commissioners the information they need, from trained and highly skilled medical professionals, and allow them to decide what procedures they should take in their jurisdiction. We will not enforce mandatory vaccination, but we will strongly promote a vaccination campaign. Communication is key; which is why we will give Quaque Alternis Die press releases about the nature of the virus or any new developments.
The scientific consensus is clear: climate change is a real, global threat, it is caused by human activity, and the Earth’s climate has warmed significantly since the 1800’s. Habitats are being destroyed, islands are sinking, ice caps are melting, the very fate of the human race is at stake, yet there has been nothing done about it yet. However, one of our main campaign points is to promote business viability and economic growth within Austenasia, and we recognize that too many restrictions on what it can and can not do can harm that potential growth, which is why we will look for industry-friendly solutions.
The School Strike for Climate movement was founded by one person who had a genuine concern for the future of mankind, Greta Thunberg. If one teenager can form a movement so massive and powerful, who knows what Austenasia can do to fight the climate crisis of only it came together? We will make Earth Day an official holiday, we will launch local-level campaigns that encourage folks to "de-carbonize," we will encourage Austenasian citizens to transfer to greener forms of energy, we will strike if we have to, all with government support. No matter what it is, we need to take drastic action. And while we are not saying that Austenasia itself contributes a lot to climate change (it very much doesn't), we must certainly do more on the world stage to prevent it.
