Welcome to the Adastral Sailing club
Adastral Sailing is a friendly members' sailing club based on the East Coast of England, near Ipswich in Suffolk.
The Club:
Offers a very cost effective opportunity to sail, whether that is on the yacht or a dinghy
Caters for all levels of experience and provides RYA-aligned training
Enables Members to develop their skills and build up their sailing experience
Organises a wide variety of sailing and social events throughout the year
Has a yacht based at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, near Levington
Has access to the facilities at that marina and Affiliated membership of Haven Ports Yacht Club (HPYC).
Our location provides a superb variety of sailing in the sheltered rivers and estuaries of the Suffolk and Essex coastlines. But at the same time, it's a convenient base that allows ready access to the open sea beyond Felixstowe for the more adventurous, whether that is farther afield along the British coast or across to Europe.
More details about the Club, our craft, membership and how we operate are on the relevant pages but here is an indication of what the club owns.
Yacht Carina
The Club owns a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 33i named Carina, which is kept at Suffolk Yacht harbour on the River Orwell.
With accommodation for up to 6 crew, she participates in training sessions, local cruising, racing, weekend rallies and a distant summer cruise.
Dinghy Fleet
The Club currently owns 5 dinghies: 2 single-handed Lasers; a double-handed Hartley 12; and 2 Xenons, which can be sailed with a crew of 3.
The dinghies are kept on site adjacent to Waldringfield Sailing Club on the River Deben.
A full programme throughout the year includes training, racing and cruising. Qualified helms can hire any dinghy for casual, independent sailing whenever they like.
