I am Adarsh T. from Thiruvanthapuram, which is the capital of Kerala. I served as an academic mentor, researcher, and geographer with a focus on physical geography and disaster management. As a freelance GIS analyst, I specialize in geographic information systems and remote sensing. Additionally, I am a climate educator committed to advancing environmental education for youth, aiming to drive positive social change and foster a more resilient future, and a volunteer aimed at enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable practices.
I am currently a full-time researcher in geography and am also working as a member of the Board of Directors and a former Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at the Climatehood Foundation (NGO) from 2019 onwards. Climatehood is a climate youth fraternity aiming to encourage young people and the general public to bring about changes in their attitudes and behaviors, helping them adapt to climate change-related trends, nurturing climate resilience, and emphasizing climate literacy.
I am actively involved in various professional organizations and initiatives. My role as a National Advisor at the Global Youth Development and Empowerment Council (GYDEC) enables me to guide and mentor young leaders in sustainable development. I am also a commission member and young professional with the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM) and the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) of Southeast Asia.
At Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, I serve as a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), contributing to the promotion of academic excellence and quality standards. I am also associated with the university’s academic and skill development initiatives as an advisory committee member of the Centre for Skill Development Courses and Career Planning (CSDCCP) and as a member of the Research and Development Cell.
In addition, I serve as the convener of the Sukruthi Forestry Club and as the student training coordinator for the skill development and personal development programs conducted in association with the Career Guidance and Counselling Cell at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. I am also an executive member of the Alumni Association of the Department of Geography, Government College Kariavattom, where I actively engage in alumni initiatives and academic networking activities.
I worked as an assistant professor on contract in the Department of Geology at Fatima Mata National College, Kollam, and as guest faculty in the Department of Disaster Management at Loyola College of Social Sciences, Sreekaryam. As an alumnus of the Global Shapers Trivandrum Hub, the youth wing of the World Economic Forum, I have contributed to global dialogues on youth empowerment and climate action.
I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geography at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Development Studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) through distance education. My academic achievements include completing a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Geography at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, where I secured the second rank. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDGIST) in Geo-Information Science and Technology from the University of Kerala, achieving the fifth rank, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geography from the University of Calicut, securing the second rank. I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in geography from the University of Kerala.
I have actively contributed to academic research and scholarly discussions in the fields of geography and disaster management through conference presentations and publications. I have presented three research papers at international conferences and one paper at a national conference, reflecting my engagement with the wider academic community. In addition to conference presentations, I have authored nine research articles published in various journals and academic platforms. I have also contributed one Scopus-indexed book chapter, demonstrating my continued involvement in scholarly research and academic writing related to geography, environmental studies, and disaster management.
In addition to having completed more than 120 online short-term courses and attending more than 50 training programs, including offline and online events, I have also attended more than 200 scientific events (both offline and online), including conferences, seminars, webinars, etc.
I completed a postgraduate diploma in disaster management from IISDT and a diploma in computer applications from the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) and DTP (Desktop Publishing) from the Integrated Information Technology Centre, Karakulam. I have a certification in Natural Hazard and Disaster Management from the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, and a certification in PC Hardware and Networking from the Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) training institute.
I am a certified Cyber Crime Intervention officer (CCIO) from the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC), which is India’s leading nonprofit foundation advancing national cybersecurity, and a certified climate educator from Climate Reality Project who has conducted sessions on climate change and sustainability at over 30 educational institutions, including schools and colleges in Trivandrum, since 2018.
My extensive volunteer experience spans over a decade, encompassing social work, environmental management, and disaster management at various local, regional, and national events. I have worked as a stage committee volunteer for Campus Union & University Union - Art Festival, SSUS, an organizing committee member & an office committee member for Research Scholars Meet 2023 hosted by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. Additionally, I worked as a Climate Educator and Green Reporter as part of the Climatehood Foundation's Global Climate Education Month and as a climate educator as part of the C5 Organization's Global Climate Education Week. Furthermore, I contributed as a program committee member for the A-Zone Art Festival in Calicut University for the consecutive years of 2018 & 2017. I also held the role of IQAC Student Coordinator at Government College Chittur. My other roles include serving as an executive committee member of Yuvasamathi Palakkad, task force member on the district organizing committee for the National Games of Kerala under the district collector, and department secretary in the Department of Geography at Govt. College Kariavattom.
I am a life member of the All-India Research Scholars Association (AIRSA), Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG), Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA), Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS), and National Association of Geographers (NAGI) and also a proud member of several esteemed organizations, including the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), Indian Youth Biodiversity Network (IYBN), World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM), Climate Reality Project, Global Shapers Community (GSC), Samoohika Sannadhasena, YOUNGO, Google Crowd Source Community, and the Google Local Guide community.

I am dedicated to empowering youth and communities through education and innovative solutions to address pressing environmental challenges.
