During my studies, to bridge the gap between what is being taught in classrooms and what actually happens in the industry and to understand what research in chemical engineering is aiming at, undertaking internships is a must. I had interned myself at the following places which had helped me a lot to make the connections
Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI-CSIR), Chennai. (May'17-Jun'17) - Research Intern at CLRI, studying the extraction of natural dyes and their application on various substrates.
Hindustan Organic Chemical Limited (HOCL), Cochin. (Dec'16-Dec'16) - Interned at HOCL, where I gained exposure to large-scale manufacturing of phenol and acetone, process safety practices, and plant operation workflows.
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. (May'16-Jun'16) - Completed an internship at BARC, receiving training in chemical process research along with orientation on R&D activities and exposure to advanced research facilities.
Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT), Cochin. (Dec'15-Dec'15) - Interned at FACT, observing fertiliser production processes, ammonia and sulphuric acid plant operations, caprolactam production units, and industrial safety practices
