Two congruent right triangles overlap such that the short leg of the first triangle lines up with the long leg of the second triangle, and vice versa; and the vertices at their right angles meet.
If the length of the short legs is 6, and the length of the long legs is 8, what is the area of the overlapping region?
BONUS QUESTION: Is there a general form for the area of the overlapping region given that the triangles must always be congruent right scalene triangles?
