Mattress Cleaning

Getting your mattress cleaned is one of the most sanitary things you can do for yourself. If you suffer from allergies, sensitive skin or breathing issues – getting your mattress cleaned should be a regular priority in your household.

Humans are constantly shedding loose skin cells and your mattress happens to be the perfect collector of this organic material. And just because it’s organic matter, doesn’t mean it’s good for you! In addition to skin cells, your mattress also collects dust mites, pollen and other allergens. And you’re sleeping in them 8 hours a day!

How We Clean Mattresses

Step 1: Vacuum

Vacuuming the mattress is an essential first step. We want to get all the loose soils out so when it’s time to do the actual cleaning process, we can get it 100% clean. We vacuum the top, sides and the bottom of the mattress to get it thoroughly prepped for cleaning.

Step 2: Pre-Conditioning

It’s important to pre-condition the mattress with a cleaning solution. The cleaning solution will emulsify the soils so that they can be completely removed during hot water extraction. The pre-conditioning solution is allowed to dwell for a specified period as it will work to break down oils.

 Step 3: Hot Water Extraction

The next step is to extract the soils with extremely hot water. We use a truck mounted steam cleaner that extracts dusts, mites, and soils at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. This process is also necessary for killing bed bugs (and other bugs), because 200 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which bed bugs die.

Step 4: Rinse

The final step is to rinse the mattress thoroughly to remove any leftover cleaning solution. Some people are very sensitive to cleaning solutions and detergents and we want to make sure their post-cleaning experience is perfect.

What about cleaning pillows?

We recommend replacing pillows because they are inexpensive. It’s a good idea to replace your pillows every six months (especially if you suffer from allergies).

Mattress Cleaning for People Sensitive to Soaps & Detergents

For people that are sensitive to soaps and detergents, we have a very mild cleaning alternative that we can use to clean your mattress. Just let us know if you have sensitivities to soaps and detergents when you call (or when we arrive).

Mattress Stain Removal

If you have mattress stains, or a child that has wet their bed, and you’d like to remove the stain from their mattress (or yours), we can do that as well. We also have a very good organic stain remover that can be used on mattresses if you’re concerned about chemicals that your children come in contact with.
