This project, a live event, was a debate show on the recent hockey tournament, The Four Nations Face Off. A tournament between 4 countries, Canada, USA, Sweden, and Finland, that happened last year. In a group of 6, we decided to make a show that allowed 4 “team managers” to pronounce a lineup, debate why their team is the best, and then they played a small tournament on NHL 2024, the video game, to simulate a winner for this tournament based on the lineups they put out and debated about. The problem for this show was that once our show was live, the monitor setup we had for the video games crashed. We had to fix the monitor on the go during the live show to ensure that our tournament was able to go on. We were able to get the monitor working just in time for the games to begin, thankfully.
This is our Shoflo run down for the first 8 segments of our show. This is what we based our run time on. As you can seem there are segments and time stamps on each row. This was our guide for our live show. I worked with the director to create this. We spent hours perfecting how we wanted our show to run.
My role for this project was to get b-roll footage for each of the players that were going to be listed for the countries' respective teams, and then on the live show day, I was the floor director. I ensured that talents knew that they were on air and that they were looking at the correct camera for certain shots.
