This resource discusses the importance of building a strong self identity during adolescence. While your students focus on creating their own identity maps, you can read about how a strong sense of identity can help prepare young people to deal with mental health problems. you can have a discussion about personal and social identities and how they come together to make a person who they are with your child. This will build background knowledge to support the work we are doing in the classroom at home.
This is a personality test that will determine whether you are an introvert or extrovert. This will allow you to think deeper about the lesson and have personal discussions with your child about being introverted or extroverted. Although we normally think about being introverted as a negative aspect of one’s personality, Cain makes the argument that it can be seen as a positive. If a you take the test and realize that you are more of an introvert you can talk about times when it has helped you in life, and times when you wished you had been more outspoken. Overall this resource will allow you to have a better understanding of the lesson.
