All meals are served in Barney Hall and thoughtfully prepared by our chef Richard and his prep cook Dillon. If you have any special requests or food allergies, please let us know in advance—we want to ensure everyone feels cared for at every meal.
Mealtimes offer a valuable opportunity to connect and socialize with fellow participants. Important announcements are often shared during meals, so please arrive on time to stay informed and be part of our community.
Barney Hall is open outside of meal times as well! Feel free to relax in the dining room, have a snack, and make yourself at home. If you’re the last to leave in the evening, we kindly ask that you turn off the lights before you go.
For more details about dining, daily schedules, and other helpful information, please explore the rest of this guide. We’re glad to have you here!
If you plan to miss any meals please be sure to communicate directly with the coordinator or intern, so we don't have to worry or look for you. If you have guests joining you, please notify both the kitchen and the Coordinator as soon as possible. The cost for guests is $15 for lunch and $20 for dinner.
Breakfast (7:30–8:45 am):
Enjoy breakfast at your own pace! A self-serve continental breakfast will be available each morning starting at 7:30 am, featuring toast, a waffle maker, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, and cereal. If you are an early riser, feel free to arrive as early as 6am to get the coffee started and help yourself.
Lunch (12:30–1:30 pm)
Dinner (6:00–7:00 pm)
After you finish your meal, please:
Bring your dishes to the sink and scrape any leftover food into the compost or trash.
Stack dishes on the counter by size.
Rinse your coffee cups.
Please do not stack glasses, as this helps prevent breakage.
Thank you for helping us maintain a welcoming and clean dining area for everyone!
Start your morning with hot coffee, conveniently served in hand-pump carafes. You’re also welcome to use the coffeemaker—just a quick reminder: if you pour the last cup, please turn off the machine or unplug it to save energy.
Feel free to help yourself to tea and the electric kettles
White Fridge:
This is the community fridge where you may store your personal food items. Please be sure to label your food with your name to avoid it being discarded.
Black Fridge:
The black fridge contains milk and juices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please feel free to help yourself to these beverages. However, do not touch any other items stored inside. Additional breakfast items are available on the serving counter each morning.
Important:
The kitchen is off-limits to participants. Please do not enter the kitchen or access the chef’s fridge. The black fridge in the dining hall is reserved for kitchen staff only, except for the milk and juice mentioned above.
