Getting to Adamant Music School

DIRECTIONS

From I-89 South or North, take Exit 8
Turn left at Main Street/Route 12 (4th light after exit)
Go straight through downtown Montpelier
When you reach the traffic circle, stay on Main Street by bearing right (Route 12 will go left).
Continue up the hill. The road will turn sharply to the left (note the big gray building on the left).
Main Street turns into County Road. Stay left on County Road - do not turn onto Towne Hill Road. Follow County Road 5 miles to Haggett Road.
Turn right onto Haggett Road and drive 1 mile to the Village of Adamant. Barney Hall is on the your right. Adamant Music School buildings are located on either side of the road. Parking for concerts at the Adamant Community Hall is located in the parking lot of the Adamant United Methodist Church and at the Adamant Community Hall.
Optional Scenic Route from County Road: You can take Center Road (second right off of County Road) to Adamant Music School. It is a narrow dirt road so traveling is quite slow but very picturesque. It enters the Village just opposite the Adamant Co-op.

To reserve your arrival shuttle from Burlington Airport (BTV) or Montpelier Train Station, please submit your transportation form by the following deadlines:

Elton participants: June 6, 2025
O'Conor participants: June 14, 2025
Cheng-Chow participants: June 23, 2025
Kenner participants: July 2, 2025
Traditional 1 participants: July 9, 2025
Traditional 2 participants: July 20, 2025

GETTING AROUND CAMPUS

Adamant Music School is set on 200 beautiful acres in the rural town of Adamant. Our participants get around campus by walking or driving, if they need and have a car. We recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, a flashlight for evening strolls, and a water bottle to stay hydrated. If you enjoy biking and are able, feel free to bring your bicycle for getting around our grounds and exploring the surrounding area.

The Adamant Cooperative, just steps from Barney Hall, offers a wide variety of local goods, pantry staples, groceries, and unique crafts—making it convenient to shop for items you might need during your stay.

The nearest town with additional shops and restaurants is Montpelier, located 10 miles away. If you’d like to explore beyond Adamant, we have a list of local car services available for independent hire, and car rentals can be arranged at the following locations:

Burlington Airport (40 miles from Adamant)
