My final, polished submission to the first project of the year. The Investigative Field Essay Project 1, requires students to explore a real discourse community through interviews, observations, or artifact analysis to understand how its members communicate and create knowledge. It builds the foundation for the course by teaching students how to conduct field research, analyze audience expectations, and recognize how writing conventions vary across contexts. Through this project, I have examined how communication works within a specific community, and I have developed writing strategies that will support my success in academic, professional, and public settings both in and out of ENC 2135.
