Science Section Overview
Timing Breakdown: 40 questions, 35 minutes

The Science test assesses your ability to read complex information and process visualized data. It does NOT test your knowledge of chemistry, biology, genetics, or physics. Everything you need to know is right on the page. Within each passage, the quizzes become gradually more difficult, as shown below. To improve your Science score, practice sections are essential to learn the patterns of the most difficult questions.
Heat Map Explained: The "heat map" the right shows the average number of students who got a question right-- green meaning that many/most answered correctly, while red meaning that very FEW answered correctly.
The heat map is broken into passages. Looking closely, we learn that the easiest questions are at the beginning of the passages (7 passages total per test).
Strategy: If you are running out of time, to increase your likelihood of answering questions correctly, focus on the first questions of each passage.
