There is a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare professionals. We're organizing a North Bay Community Network to get it for them!
We're providing resources to the community network to assist with the following:
Please send your N95 masks to Get Us PPE, a national organization for the most efficient distribution!
For those that can't, we'll collect N95 masks from the community and send them for you.
Note that Get Us PPE is more efficient but we also want to reduce how much anyone leaves home
Masks donated locally may be shipped out of county to places in dire need
Produce basic fabric face masks for:
the community to use when they must be out shopping or working
healthcare workers in the event N95 or better masks become scarce. Something is better than nothing.
sick people, to help contain the spread when home or in the hospital
Experiment with producing 3D printed face shields locally
Purchase and distribute 3D printing filament as well as fabric to the people making stuff
Create a safe pickup and delivery system for all of the above
Food banks need things!
This all started for me when Dr. Mark Shapiro asked if I had any N95 masks left over from the recent fires. His colleagues around the country and specifically in a New York hospital expressed concern that they were going to hit a shortage within days. I put the word out at work and quickly collected 35 masks from my co-workers and friends. It didn't feel like a giant win but it is something. That's 35 more times a healthcare worker is better protected.
