Information about the event from Hockey Australia Masters - http://www.hockeyaustraliamasters.org.au/masters-invitation-event-2022/

Location

Newcastle International Hockey Centre - 332 Turton Rd, Broadmeadow NSW 2292

Dates

Competition 14 - 18th March (Required in Newcastle from Sunday 13th March)

Accommodation

Players need to find their own transport and accommodation while in Newcastle, it is suggested that players work together to find accommodation close to the field and each other.

Hockey Australia Masters are hosting Return to Hockey Invitational Events in early 2022. As Masters events in 2020 and 2021 were unfortunately cancelled, the concept and intent is to support masters players to return to the pitch in some state v state matches.

Selection of players, and placement of players in teams, is based on ACT Hockey, Hockey Australia and Australian Women's Masters selection policy and tournament regulations (HA TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS (Outdoor) 2021 Women’s Masters Championships). i.e. players will play in their correct age group where possible.

ACT Women's Masters priority event, apart from the local carnivals, will be sending teams to Cairns for the National Masters Championships 21st Sept - 1st Oct 2022.

Women’s Masters Invitational Event is at the Newcastle International Hockey Centre from 14 to 18 March.

ACT Women’s Masters will be sending four teams:

  • Over 34s (34 to 44 this year)

  • Over 45s (45 to 49 this year)

  • Over 50s (50 to 59 this year)

  • Over 60s (60+ this year)

EVENT DETAILS:

  • ACT Commitment: Plan for 13 – 19 March. Games are Monday 14 March to Friday 18 March.

  • Cost: Approximately $200 per person (this covers team entry, uniform, and incidentals)

  • Registration: You will need to have paid your annual HA fee before participating (either via club registration for the season or other HA competition registration).

  • Uniform: The playing uniform is still to be ratified, but the intention is to play in ACT FITA skirt, blue socks or yellow socks and a white playing singlet. The playing shirt must be purchased (these will be new for this event). ACTWM will organise for skirts to be borrowed. If you have played ACT representative before, please bring your blue and gold socks. Socks can also be purchased at the hockey shop before the event.

If you need a skirt please let me know by email, including what size.

If you have a spare skirt or know someone that has, that you/they are prepared to loan, please email me with the details.

  • Accommodation: At your own arrangements. ACT Women’s Masters will not be organising transport and accommodation for Newcastle. You may be able to organise accommodation with some of your team mates.
