ACEA Scholarship for Future Educators

The 2023 Augusta County Education Association Scholarship 

What is this scholarship?

It is a $500 scholarship for up to two students in Augusta County Public Schools, made up of funds raised by members of the ACEA to help ensure continued quality education in this county.

Who is this scholarship for?

It is for any ACPS student planning to pursue a career in K-12 education. 

What will the winner receive and how will the award be made?

The scholarship recipients will be formally announced and presented a certificate at each high school’s annual spring awards. The winners will receive a $500.00 check immediately after notifying the ACEA treasurer in writing that they have enrolled full time for the fall term in a formal post secondary course of study in education. A check will then be sent directly to the recipient at the high school where they are currently enrolled.

How do I apply?

1. Make a copy of this document: this document 

2. Complete the application questions on the document

3. Obtain two letters of recommendation, at least one of which is from a teacher

4. Obtain your most recent report card

5. Write a 500- to 800-word essay entitled What I Can Offer to the Field of Education

6. Submit all materials (#2-#5) to your school counselor by April 28, 2023.

7. The school counselor will then submit all applications to the scholarship selection committee at aceapres@gmail.com by May 4, 2023.

Note: If the applicant is under the age of 18, a parent/guardian signature is required in order to release school records to the ACEA Scholarship Committee.
