Mindy LaVecchia, M.Ed. & NCC
Hey everyone! I am the School Counseling Department Chair at Amelia County Middle School. I am originally from Highland Springs, Virginia, but my family moved to Amelia in 2013. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Paul, and we have two children: Emily, 19, and Hunter, 15.
I graduated with a BS in Psychology with a cognate in Addiction and Recovery from Liberty University in Spring 2014. I received my Master's in Education in School Counseling from Liberty University in Spring 2017. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor. I completed my internship in Amelia County and was the counseling paraprofessional at ACMS during my counseling program. I am currently working on taking the additional classes needed to be LPC-eligible through Liberty University.
I was a School Counselor at Nottoway Intermediate for three years before returning to Amelia, where my heart belongs. I was at Amelia County Elementary for two years before coming to the middle school, and I am so excited to be home there.
Fun fact: I coach Cross Country at ACHS and am the assistant coach for track at ACHS.
