Mindy LaVecchia, M.Ed. & NCC

Hey everyone! I am the School Counseling Department Chair at Amelia County Middle School. I am originally from Highland Springs, Virginia. My family moved to Amelia in 2013. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Paul, and we have two children: Emily, 17, and Hunter, 13 who attend school here in Amelia.

I graduated with a BS in Psychology with a cognate in Addiction and Recovery from Liberty University in the Spring of 2014. I received my Master's in Education in School Counseling from Liberty University in the Spring of 2017. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor. I completed my internship in Amelia County and I was the counseling paraprofessional at ACMS during my counseling program.

I was a School Counselor at Nottoway Intermediate for three years before coming back to Amelia, where my heart belongs. I was at Amelia County Elementary for the last two years. I am so excited to be home at the middle school.

Hello! I am honored to be a part of Amelia Middle school. After 22 years of teaching, I am excited to be a part of the school counseling team! My two sons: Jonathan, 23, and Ryan, 20, are the light of my life. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids, parents, and dogs. I am looking forward to getting to know the students and families in Amelia. We are going to have a fantastic year!
