We are a group of counselors who understand the importance of being able to connect with a client. Integrating religion and spiritual beliefs into a counseling session is a perfect way to understand a client better. This workshop on Acknowledging Religious Beliefs in Counseling offers counselors and psychology students the opportunity to enhance their cultural competence and empathy by integrating religion and spirituality into their practice. Through an intensive two-day event, participants will gain practical skills for working with clients whose religious beliefs shape their identities and other coping strategies. Participants will engage in interactive activities, including panel discussions, breakout sessions, case studies, and mock counseling with peers, to practice incorporating spiritual beliefs into therapy. By the end of this workshop, counselors and students will have developed personalized action plans for integrating new knowledge into their work, empowering them to provide more holistic, culturally sensitive care that addresses the complex intersection of mind, body, and spirit.
