"The Role of Religion and Spirituality in Counseling: Experience of Counselors in a Collectivist Society" from the Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health. This journal emphasizes the importance of understanding the cultural context in which the client’s religious beliefs stem from as many different cultures share different values. As well as religion shapes the identity of the client and their behaviors. This article also highlights many integration techniques that a counselor can use to help their client through traumas and discovering coping strategies that best support their needs and morals.
