About me

I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I currently divide my time between counselling adults, children and young people in a voluntary capacity at a busy hospice and my private practice. I am a registered member of the BACP (Certificate number 284646).

I access regular professional supervision. I continue to grow and develop both personally and professionally by accessing regular specialised training opportunities and keeping up to date with current best practice guidelines, evidence and research.

My background includes working within adult social care with people who had learning and/or physical disabilities and mental ill health before changing my career path to working with children and families. I spent some years with Children’s Social Care (Social Services) and Barnardo’s, before moving to the NHS where I worked within a Health Visiting Team for 8 years prior to undertaking my counselling/psychotherapy training.

Confidentiality and Ethical Working

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and am therefore committed to sustaining and advancing good practice by abiding by the standards, principles and values set out in their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions of which you can find more about here:
