What is a QEW
A Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) is trained and knowledgeable about tasks performed on electrical equipment, including safety measures, protective equipment, and task proficiency. OSHA 1910.332 requires QEWs be trained and familiar with 1910.331 through 1910.335. QEWs should have additional training to perform work on energized equipment and carry out the tasks associated with their job. They can also train unqualified electrical workers to provide additional QEWs down the road.
