Application Process
Division Leadership (Division Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, Safety Professionals) identify an Ace Employee they recommend for QEW.
QEW Candidate either provides documentation for the required courses or signs up and completes the required courses. (OSHA 10/30, CPR, LOTO, NFPA 70E) Ace University can assist the QEW Candidate in obtaining the training.
All Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) applicants must complete a Fit for Duty Medical Examination conducted by an approved medical professional. The applicant is responsible for having the examiner complete the provided Ace Electric Fit for Duty Medical Form. Upon request, the Ace Electric Human Resources team will assist in scheduling the required examination.
After the Division Leadership verifies ALL training is complete, the Ace QEW Application must be completed and submitted with required signatures.
Submitted applications are reviewed and verified by Ace University. The QEW Applicant and Division Leadership will be notified if any additional information is required. Approved QEW Candidate will be signed up for the next AU QEW Skills and Knowledge Evaluation and notified via email.
QEW Candidate attends the one-day QEW Skills and Knowledge Evaluation at Ace University. The QEW Candidate will complete a competency exam, interview, and skills test to verify he/she is qualified to work on "energized equipment".
QEW candidates that pass all three portions of the Skills and Knowledge Course will have their application submitted for executive signature.
AU Administration will complete certification paperwork, framed certificate, wallet cards, etc.
