We are proud to be the ATOM Focal Point organization in Uganda, supporting a structured and coordinated approach of improving access to quality‑assured cancer medicines and diagnostics, while strengthening the capacity to use them effectively.
As the ATOM Focal Point in Uganda, ACCR convenes stakeholders, coordinates efforts, and ensures the coalition’s work translates into sustainable impact for patients. ACCR works closely with a diverse range of partners to conduct a comprehensive country-level assessment of current capacity and needs across the oncology medicines pathway, from registration and market authorization to delivery of medicines to patients.
Together, we ensure that the country assessment is robust, evidence-based, and aligned with national priorities, ultimately informing practical actions to improve access to cancer medicines in Uganda.
The Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition Initiative supports national efforts to remove systemic barriers across the cancer care continuum, ensuring meaningful impact for patients. Globally led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), ATOM brings together governments, technical agencies, civil society, and private sector partners.
Key Activities in Uganda:
Country-led coordination for equitable access to cancer medicines.
Stakeholder engagement across government, civil society, clinicians, and patient organizations.
Capacity building and data-driven implementation.
True progress in cancer care demands that we bridge research with real-world access, that we design innovative solutions for all people, not just a few.
We thank all partners for their leadership and collaboration. We look forward to continued engagement as ATOM moves into the implementation phase.
Science can change lives, but only when it reaches the people who need it most. Discovery alone does not change the world—we must turn evidence into solutions, and solutions into action.
