Information for Presenters & Chairs
Presenters
You are allocated a 25 minute total timeslot. This means you will have 15-20 minutes to present your paper, with 5-10 minutes Q&A (we aim to provide the final program by the end of October).
You must keep to time and may be cut short by the Chair if your presentation runs over, therefore we recommend no more than 20 slides. This is important in order to respect the next speaker(s) and ensure every participant has their allocated time to present their work.
We encourage any early career researchers to indicate in their presentation, any specific areas of their paper they would like feedback on, as our aim is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for emerging scholars.
You should bring your slides on a USB and load them onto the computer at the start of the session (a helper will be available to assist), so please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled start time for that session.
Chairs
Please arrive at the room 5 minutes before the starting time.
Please introduce yourself to all speakers in your session. Introduce each speaker briefly, and ensure they keep to time by giving them a 5-minute and 1-minute warning (using signs provided).
If a speaker does not turn up, please maintain the printed schedule as some delegates may wish to move between papers during a session (there is a 5-minute ‘change over’ time between each speaker).
You are required to manage the question time at the end of each paper and to encourage participants to ask questions and provide feedback. We encourage you to read the papers in your session beforehand, to facilitate feedback and questions.
Please thank the presenters at the end of the session.
