"Building independence through movement, confidence, and community access."
In July 2026, EnhanceAbility received a grant from the Virginia Board for the Blind and Vision Impaired to bring Orientation and Mobility services to students in critical need--those without access to a qualified Orientation and Mobility professional in their home schools.
Access in Motion is an innovative regional hub program designed to address critical Orientation and Mobility service shortages and bring students together for intensive, individualized O&M instruction in authentic community settings.
Highlighting:
Two full days of intensive O&M instruction
Community-based travel experiences
One on one instruction from qualified Orientation and Mobility professionals
IEP progress reports pre-instruction, mid-instruction, and post-instruction
In April, 2027, EnhanceAbility is proud to announce we will be able to serve the Roanoke, Virginia community with Access in Motion. Space is limited, so interested participants are urged to apply early. The Access in Motion team is accepting applicants on a rolling basis, with final decisions made by November 30th.
