Adobe Photoshop is a pixel-based program and therefore resolution dependant. But we all know that Photoshop can basically do everything. It's very much capable of creating vector shapes that are ideal to turn into selections. Let's start with the basics and go more in-depth later on in this chapter.
Take a look at the properties in the top menu while using one of the path/shape tools. Fill color, stroke color and width, alignment. It's all there to play with.

Download the three images from the assets folder
Follow the steps in the video and try to understand what you are doing. Know the theory behind it.
Adjust the canvas size.
Select the caterpillar with use of the path tool.
Select the butterfly with the path tool
Combine the three images by embedding them.

Open file 4B_01_Run.psd. This file is created for print. Export it for a screen in the correct color mode as an JPEG.
Create a new document for web using the Web - Desktop HD Design preset. Set the color depth to 32 bit. Name the document 4B_02_Web.
Open file 4B_03_Swim.psd.
Create the following guide lines to identify the position of the text layers.
A vertical line at the start of the text
Two horizontal lines that identifies the baselines of the two text layers.
Fill out your name in all caps.
Open 4B_04_Building.psd.
Make the sky transparant in a non-destructive way.
Open 4B_05_Forest.psd.
Add a Solid Color Adjustment Layer (#112233) in between of the two layers.
Use a Hard Light Blending Mode with an opacity of 50%.
Open 4B_06_Text.psd.
Change the leading of the text to 40 points.
Open 4B_07_Copyright.psd.
Set the file info copyright status to Copyrighted.
Open 4B_08_Street.psd.
Change the layer so that you can add a non-destructive filter.
Add a Lightning Effects filter, apply all default settings.
Adjust the density to 25%.
Open 4B_09_Shape.psd.
Create a rounded rectangle that has the following 4 chatacteristics:
Width: 400 pixels
Height: 600 pixels
Fill: Green (#8EF507)
Alignment: Center and middle relative to the document.
Open 4B_10_Dive.psd.
Remove the diver without leaving a trace.
