Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design is an advanced certificate that requires at least two certifications to validate your ability as a professional visual designer. In our program we will focus on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
The Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design validates the individual’s expertise in creating and designing holistic digital aesthetics using Adobe Creative Cloud. This certification requires professional-level skills and knowledge to effectively create and develop digital creative assets. In order to pass this exam you will need to have an experience with the software for more than 150 hours. So 150 hours Adobe Photoshop and 150 hours Adobe Illustrator.
Earning an Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design certification proves that you have the capability to operate multiple platforms to accomplish your projects. It also shows that you are proactive, resourceful, and nimble. It recognises you as professionals that you are.
We've got ten lessons of four hours each ahead of us. This gives you 40 hours only. Based on the SOFT1 and BEROEP lessons the average amount of experience should be approximately 110 hours. In total that's just half of the amount that is needed. So you must do your research and homework assignments in order to get enough experience.

Lesson 5: Prep questions, theory and projects
The goal is that as many students as possible pass the exam. That is possible! But it is important that:
You are motivated to succeed, you want that title on your resume!
You feel safe in class, if you don't understand something, you let the teacher know.
You dare to ask questions, and you do!
You make time to train with the software outside of the lessons.
Focus on the areas discussed in the lessons.
You must have a Certiport account to take the exams. You create this in the first lesson. You also pass on the Certipoint account to the supervising teacher in that first lesson.
The exam consists of two parts. When starting the exam you will have to answer the first questions in the exam environment. These are ten questions that are a bit more theoretical. You can think of communication with customers, the use of copyright, etc.
The second part starts when the theoretical questions have been completed. You cannot go back to the first part! The second part is located in a separate window in the software for which you take the exam (photoshop or illustrator).
You will have a total of 50 minutes to take the exam. This means that you have about a minute or so per question. It is a matter of reading very carefully before you click on the answer or perform the task.
When you reach the end of the series of questions you may check your answers if necessary. Are you all set? Sure? Then you will immediately see whether you have passed or not!
You will pass the exams if you have a score of at least 700 out of 1000 points. This does not say anything about the number of questions you need to get right, some questions are more important than others. If you calculate it back to a grade, then you will succeed if you get a 7.0 or higher.
Taking an exam normally costs (outside the GLR) € 49.95. You are taking part in the excellence program and we expect you to succeed. Taking a test is challenging. It occurs that students will fail the test in their first attempt. If you take the exam, you are only entitled to retake the test if have followed each lesson and you managed to score more than 550 points. If you fail to achieve this score, there is unfortunately no retake for you.
